The area around Playa Torrecilla is booming during the summer months, and the beach is the second most popular in Nerja after Playa Burriana. Walking from one end of Playa Torrecilla to the other, along the seaside promenade, you will pass chiringuitos, tapas bars, beach shops, and the wonderful 4-Star Hotel Riu Monica .
This beach is a favorite amongst middle-aged, or retired tourists, or those on romantic holidays without the kids... as the Hotel RIU is adult-only.

The 'Blue Flag' Campaign, starting in 1987, has been awarded to over 4,000 beaches and marinas in 48 countries across Europe, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada, Jordan, UAE, and the Caribbean. As of today, Spain has had more 'Blue Flag' beaches than any other country every year since the awards began. Playa Torrecilla is a Blue Flag beach.

** Playa Torrecilla - Sunbeds and the Sea
Why Visit Playa Torrecilla?Visit Playa Torrecilla if you like to be where the action is. This area is the second busiest in Nerja, after Playa Burriana, and you will have everything you need within walking distance. This beach is just off the popular Plaza de los Cangrejos (full of bars and restaurants), and has an excellent hotel (Hotel Riu Monica - ) right on the beach. Leave the kids at home, and enjoy a little peace and tranquility in the Spanish sun...
How to Arrive ➜From Granada - Drive south on A-44. Take exit 183 to merge onto E-15 / A-7 towards Salobreña / Málaga. Take exit 295 (Nerja) from the A-7.
➜ Continue to the roundabout and take the N-340 (first exit) towards Nerja. Drive straight until you reach town and find one of the parking areas below. Playa Torrecilla can be accessed on foot from the Plaza de los Cangrejos.
From Malaga - Follow A-7 going east. Take exit 295 (Nerja) from A-7. Then follow directions above.
From the Center of Nerja - Make your way walking towards the Plaza de los Cangrejos. From there you will be able to access this beach on foot.
Parking ➜For parking near Playa Torrecilla, these are the three closest parking areas. The first two are outdoors and relatively small, the third is a large parking garage.

- Parking Balcón de Europa - this parking area is a three-story underground structure. It sits just below the Ayuntamiento (town hall), tourist office, and Nerja Museum. 10-minute walk to the beach.
** Playa Torrecilla - One of Nerja's busiest beaches
Access to the Beach ➜Access to Playa Torrecilla can be obtained in one of three ways:
- From the 'Plaza de los Cangrejos' - Make your way to the Plaza de los Cangrejos. From there walk towards the sea and down
some stairs to the
promenade. Walk along Playa Torrecilla, going west, to the end where you will find a lovely Mirador with wonderful views.
- From Playa Chucho - If you are staying near Playa Chucho, you can walk east along the seafront
promenade until you reach Playa Torrecilla.
- From Hotel RIU Monica - If you are staying in the
Hotel Riu Monica , you can just walk straight out onto the beach.
