Playa el Playazo is Nerja's longest beach, and because of that its characteristics change depending on where you are. On the eastern end, near Playa el Chucho, the beach is very natural and rocky. There are a few rustic chiringuitos but mostly there are few services.

On the western end of the beach, however, things change... Instead of dark sand and pebbles you will find smooth white sand. There is also a great little chiringuito / beach bar, Paraiso De Nerja Playa, on the western end that serves delicious tapas and rents sun beds by the hour or day.

Playa el Playazo tends to be much less crowded than Playa Burriana and Playa Calahonda and has a very tropical feel to it.

Playa el Playazo ➜ Water Sports / Excursions

Playa el Playazo normally doesn't offer kayak rentals like neighboring Playa Burriana, but there is a large boat yard where you can rent small motor boats for the day. From Playa el Playazo you can go east towards the Nature Reserve and check out the waterfalls and hidden caves.

Playa Burriana is the most popular spot in Nerja for kayaking and water sports... due to its proximity to the Maro Nature Reserve and Waterfalls. If you are interested in kayaking excursions to the waterfalls, paddle board, boat rental, or scuba diving... read these guides...
