Playa Velilla - Almuñécar

Located between Playa Tesorillo to the east and Playa Puerta del Mar to the west, Playa Velilla is the longest beach in Almunecar measuring 1,360 meters. Velilla is known for being the liveliest area of town and full of Restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, apartment blocks, hotels and night clubs.

The hightlight of Playa Velilla is the water park at its western end, AquaTropic, loved by kids of all ages. The Park boasts slides and pools for children, teenagers and adults. More information about the AquaTropi Park can be found in the Parks and Gardens section.

Playa Velilla also boasts magnificiant views of the neighboring beaches and watchtowers. Here you will enjoy natural vistas from Almuñécar all the way down the coast to Salobreña.

There is also a wonderful paseo that now runs the lenth of Playa Velilla, it's perfect for walking, running or just an evening stroll. If your interested in renting bycicles there is a also a bike path that runs between the paseo and the main road.

Getting There

Playa Velilla is located on the eastern side of Almunecar, accessed by the main coastal road. After passing the Aquatropic water park on your right, Velilla will run up the coast on your right for 1,300 meters. Underground parking is now available along the main road.
