Torre Cotobro in Almuñécar

Almunecar Watchtowers Cotobro

Nestled within a gated community in the Cotobro Urbanization is yet another Moorish tower. Access to this tower is restricted due to its location but it’s possible to still see it if the gates are open.

Currently the tower is being used as a water reciprocal but is still in very good condition.

To find this tower, take a left off the N340 on the last road before the La Herradura Tunnel heading towards Almuñécar. Go up the hill and turn towards the left, continue around the curve in the road and the tower will be up the hill on your right.

Cotobro is a beautiful neighborhood to explore. Walk down the main Cotobro road and you will pass the turn off for the Roman Bridge and eventually find yourself at the bottom in front of the Playa Cotobro and Playa Muerto.

Getting There

Access is off the N340 going towards Almuñécar from La Herradura.
