Chite
|
In the Lecrín Valley, south of Granada city, is a village called Chite. It is in an ideal
location as it is midway between the capital city and the Costa Tropical while at the
edge of La Alpujarra.

The proximity to Granada airport, ski lodges of the Sierra
Nevada, fresh springs of Lanjarón, and the numerous beaches of Motril, Salobreña and
Almuñécar make Chite an ideal spot to which one could escape. And if one wanted to,
you could walk to the village of Lecrín.
Nature is at its best here, blessed by a sub-tropical climate, and fertile land.
Agriculture of citrus fruits, tropical fruits, almonds, olives and wine is
the basic economy here. The true Andalucian character lives on here as
rural tourism has just begun to take hold.

Walking about in both the
upper and lower parts of the village can yield visual surprises in the
Arab-inspired architecture, a reminder of this area's history.
Although fast-entering the 21st century, the village is still small enough to retain its
original character.
If you have any other interesting information, thoughts, commments, photos, articles, etc (on Chite or
any other subject) that you would like to post on our site, please feel free to
email us at any time. Thank You.
