Almuñécar Beaches - Playa Pozuelo, (Almunecar)
Playa Pozuelo
Getting There - Photos
Located on the other side of Playa Tesorillo, Pozuelo also shares views of the ancient Moorish watchtower. It also enjoys views of the neighboring Playa Calabajio and the Cabria watchtower in the distance. Its natural beauty is only amplified by the surrounding grove of mature Eucalyptus trees. The sand is fine and grey and the shoreline declines gradually into the shallow surf, this makes Pozuelo ideal for families with small children.
Since it caters to families and one of the nearby Taramay hotels, this beach has a host of amenities. There is one restaurant that sits directly on the beach, towards the western end. On the eastern end there are a few more restaurants, further back, but on the beach as well. Parking is available but during the summer months is usually always full. Think ahead and get there early.
Boating activities are also available on this beach; sailboats, kayaks and paddle boats are among the choices.
