One of the more popular beaches in Almunecar is Playa Cotobro. Its location at the foot of the Cotobro
Urbanization makes it perfect for families on holiday in nearby villas. In the last two years a new hotel has been
built directly across from the beach which provides its guests with easy access and a refuge for mid day
tapas and drinks.
Because of the recent economic downturn a number of the restaurants along the Cotobro beach have closed but the hotel
offers a nice patio for food and drinks.
Bathrooms and Changing rooms are available on the eastern side of the beach. Access to the neighboring Playa Muerto
can be found on the westernmost part of the beach via a stone footpath that wraps around the cliffs edge.
For Fun: Make your way up the road behind you and see if you can find the old roman bridge. You can find more information
and directions to the Roman Cotobro bridge in the Monuments section.
